Privacy Statement
SimplyAuto keeps everything on your computer. Nothing is collected, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Effective date: July 23, 2026
The short version
SimplyAuto does not collect, store, share, or transmit any personal data. The application contains no networking code at all — it has no way to connect to the internet. There are no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no cloud services.
What the app stores on your computer
- Macro recordings. When you start a recording, SimplyAuto captures your keyboard and mouse input so it can play it back later. This only happens while recording is turned on, and the recording exists only in the app's memory until you choose to save it. Saved recordings are plain files (with a
.simplyautoextension) written to a location you pick. They never leave your computer, and you can open, move, or delete them like any other file. - Settings. Your preferences (hotkeys, click intervals, and similar options) are stored in the Windows Registry under your own user account, at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimplyAuto. You can remove this at any time by deleting that key.
Because recordings can include anything you type while recording, treat saved recording files with the same care as any document that might contain sensitive text. SimplyAuto itself never reads your keyboard or mouse except while you have recording turned on.
What the app never does
- It never connects to the internet.
- It never sends your recordings, settings, or any other information anywhere.
- It never runs analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting of its own.
- It never shows ads or uses third-party tracking of any kind.
SimplyAuto is open source, so you can verify all of this yourself in the source code on GitHub.
Microsoft Store installs
If you install SimplyAuto from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may collect standard store information such as download counts and crash reports. That collection is handled by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. SimplyAuto adds no data collection of its own.
